Elms Publishing Inc., established in 2002 is the brainchild of Ed Lewis and Marc Slott, software pioneers in the apparel industry. They built their first software company in 1998, around their flagship product ProTracker, a product designed to help large apparel companies manage their ever expanding product lines. Today some of the largest apparel licensing companies in the world use ProTracker to manage their product development.
 
Four years after ProTracker was created Ed and Marc had their minds set on developing a different type of company. Instead of building complicated corporate power tools they wanted to build products for the everyday person. Easy to use products that the average person could be comfortable with, yet powerful enough to get the job done right.
 
This time around they also wanted to have fun and build products that they were both passionate about.  Marc an avid book collector and the author of the Book Collecting for Beginners Tutorial and Ed an aspiring art collector, both wanted to make products they could use and enjoy along with their fellow collectors. Their passion for their interests culminated in two such products, My Book Collection and My Art Collection.   Retail successes sparked the meeting and partnering with other enthusiasts to create both the My Wine Collection and My Brew Collection products.
 
In 2003 after the San Diego wildfires Ed and Marc decided to make another product they felt passionate about. With the loss of over 3000 homes in their hometown they wanted to build a product so that folks  could easily document their belongs in the event of a disaster. Their fifth product, My Home Inventory became their newest retail offering.  Ultimately it was a product designed with their friends and family in mind, something that would be easy for them to use and fast enough to make the task fun.
 
Today My Home Inventory is used world wide.  With disasters such as hurricane Katrina, Ed and Marc feel satisfaction knowing that they have contributed positively to their friends, family and customers, giving them the peace of mind that their belongings are documented.
 
Today Elms products are sold in over 350 stores and web sites world wide.
